Acapulcos world-famous divers of La Quebrada, who soar from 136-foot rocky cliffs into crashing surf, have become an enduring symbol of the city. These fearless fellows dive into a narrow inlet where huge waves enter and crash over the rocks. The timing of their dives is crucial and must be perfectly executed due to the dangerous water conditions below. This is one of the main Acapulco attractions.

 

Coyuca Lagoon

San Diego Fort

The old San Diego Fort, with its singular geometric style in a pentagon shape, has been always an essential part of Acapulcos architecture. Today, this recently restored monument accommodates a new History Museum. This yesteryear fortress was witness of many events of Acapulcos past: the culture of the first inhabitants of the area, the South Seas conquest, the commerce with Asia, the pirates of the Pacific, the exploits of Morelos, and other interesting facts of the zone.
